Order Process Explained
1. Apply
Complete and submit an Online Vehicle Quote Request, email us or call us with your requirements.
2. Deposit Payment
Pay a refundable deposit of £300 to show a commitment to buy.
3. Vehicle Search
Eminence Imports selects suitable vehicles to purchase on your behalf at the live auction website in Japan. The options available are emailed to you in auction format as soon as they become available, usually the day before auction.
If at this stage we do not find a suitable vehicle or you change your mind before we arrange for our agents to attend auction and place a bid we will refund the deposit paid, less £50 to cover search and administration costs which Eminence Imports have incurred.
4. Vehicle Auction & Inspection
The vehicle you wish to purchase will be inspected by our agents in Japan and a if there are no problems discovered will place a bid up to the maximum amount. If there are any noticeable mechanical problems or undisclosed bodywork/chassis damage the vehicle will not be bid on.
5. Bidding Results
You will be notified within 12 hours if you have won the vehicle we placed a bid on. If successful, the sales invoice will be raised and emailed to you within 12 hours.
6. Payment
Remit the FOB amount to arrive within 5 WORKING days. All necessary documentation for exporting will begin after confirming your payment. Once payment has been received we will arrange for your vehicle to be transported to port and loaded onto the next available vessel. You will be contacted with an ETA at the earliest opportunity.
7. Shipment
All necessary documents for importing into your country will be sent after the car has been loaded onto the vessel.
8. Upon Arrival to the UK (6-9 weeks)
We will contact you to discuss the landed charges that are needed to release the vehicle from UK Port Authorities. Costs to be paid at this stage are ocean freight, 10% duty, 15% VAT and shipping agent fee.
9. Collect yourself or let Eminence Imports deal with collection?
You can decide whether you wish to collect the vehicle yourself or where you would like us to collect the vehicle on your behalf although we will have to charge for this service to cover travel costs.
10. UK Preparation
Vehicles under 10 years old will require an SVA/ESVA & MOT. Vehicles over 10 years old will require an MOT only. In addition you will also need to carry out the following;
- Adding a rear fog light
- Speedo conversion to MPH
- Adding a radio band expander (optional)
- Fuel neck restrictor
- CAT1 alarm system (optional)
- Delimiting from 112mph (optional)
11. Final Step
Once you have a valid MOT certificate you can apply to the DVLA to register the vehicle and hit the road!
If at anytime there is a delay in payment this may incur additional storage fee's by the port authorities in either Japan or the UK.
